Undoubtedly there are soul mates more local to your vicinity that you either have not yet met or yet recognized, but the Internet is a wonderful instrument for making connections all over the world and the soul may well have its reasons for choosing this means to establish close relationships. Often it presents an opportunity in the form of a challenge to one's standard operating procedure, forcing one to develop new skills to overcome problems like distance or conflicting lifestyles. At other times it may represent a fear of closeness, or a fantasy projection, or even a desire for adventure and change. At bottom, there are as many reasons as there are people why the potential for soul connection should come through such an impersonal medium; in fact, long before the Internet existed people frequently met and fell in love through letter writing, having never met in person before deciding to travel long distances and get married. Perhaps in the end it is best to point out that any opportunity to encounter a true soul mate is a kind of miracle, no matter the means.
